In 2009, developed a Portable Situational Awareness System (PSAS) for the Oklahoma Sate University, Multi-Spectral Lab.
The PSAS provides real time location information for UAS and UGS operators. The system integrates air vehicle information generated by transponders with similar information generated by unmanned vehicle flight control computers, displaying all information in an easy to interpret digital display.
The PSAS system can detect up to 32 aircraft transponders at a range of up to 35 NM. Simultaneously, PSAS displays location, airspeed, and altitude for up to 6 non-transponder aircraft flying Cloud Cap and Procerus UAV flight control systems. The system has interfaces enabling sharing of data with other PSAS installations or other sources of aircraft location information. Data transfer is accomplished via Ethernet using wire or rf carriers.
